Doctor Bio
Dr. Ahmed El Khashab holds an MD and is a Fellow of the College of Surgeons (Glasgow), with further fellowship standing from the International Council of Ophthalmology. He is also a member of the ASRS and the AAO, and his professional ties extend across the Gulf region's retina community. Today he practises as a Consultant Ophthalmology at Al Tadawi Specialty Hospital, where his surgical work covers vitreoretinal procedures, anterior segment surgery and phacoemulsification with premium IOL. Patients with diabetic retinopathy, macular conditions or retinal detachment come to him for surgery, along with those needing intravitreal injections, scleral buckle placement or laser therapy. He also treats retinopathy of prematurity in premature children and manages trauma cases and complications affecting the anterior and retinal segments. Outside the operating theatre, he serves as treasurer and general secretary of the Emirates Retina Group and heads the scientific committee of the Gulf retina group. Consultations are available in English and Arabic.
